The Virtual Grove Gala

Monte Vista Grove’s first-ever virtual event on September 12 was a huge success!

272 viewers registered to watch the hour-long live broadcast, co-hosted by our own Deborah Herbert and longtime KNBC weathercaster Fritz Coleman, in celebration of our frontline

heroes and outstanding residents. The event also included raffle give-aways and a wonderfully received online auction!

The entire recorded broadcast can be viewed at mvgh.org/gala, and to date has been streamed nearly 600 times!

The event raised a grand total of $157,142, exceeding the net goal that was set prior to the onset of the pandemic, which radically changed our plans for this event and all others. We are beyond grateful to our sponsors, donors, viewers and bidders for their generosity, and support of our meaningful mission to provide dignified care and a supportive community to senior adults, more crucial than ever during this unprecedented pandemic.

Special thanks to our generous estate sponsors – House of Rest, The Berns Team, and Huntington Hospital – and to our hardworking gala committee, led by committee chairwoman and trustee, Janet Wells, who put a staggering amount of dedication and work into this event. Fellow trustee and committee member Janet Louie was also instrumental in organizing the online auction from beginning to end. So many people played a role in making this event what it was, and we are thankful for every single one.

FOUNDERS CIRCLE

Our 2020 Founders Circle Committee members are continuing their fundraising efforts and have reached 91 percent of our goal! We are thankful for the continued generosity of our selfless donors as we strive to continue providing exceptional care to our resident population.

COMMUNICATIONS

The Development Department continues to expand communication through emails to our donor-base, as well as creating video content and accessible online platforms including the mvgh.org website, which now includes a dedicated page for Virtual Convocations (under “Community”), and for memorial giving (under “Support Us”). Our printed newsletter, The Messenger, will be published later this fall.
