A WORD FROM THE PRESIDENT

Welcome to the digital age! Judging from the number of residents who have been tuning in to the weekly convocation and the number that have participated in recent Town Meetings; we are becoming more accustomed to and comfortable with Zoom meetings.

With that, I would then like to encourage our residents to make more use of another digital resource: the “UResidents Portal" on the MVGH website. We were all reminded of this in the last issue of “Minders." And this is actually in response to those who have asked if it would be possible to have our resident directory, online. Because lT IS, since the directory is a part of what we can access from the resident portal. You go to MVGH.ORG, and the portal is in the top left corner.

To access it you simply need your e-mail address and password. If you need to be reminded of your password, or want to change it, simply contact Noelle at ngonza!es@mvgh.org. So from the comfort of your easy chair, you can access information about your friends and neighbors, see the weekly menus, and find other resident-related information. The more that we use this resource, the more material will be uploaded to it for our use.

Hopefully, most of you were able to participate in the Zoom briefing with the architect showing the details for the major renovation of the Grove dining facility. It was obvious that great care was given to the comments, concerns and suggestions of the residents themselves.

As the Covid pandemic continues to wind down (hopefully!), there will be lasting changes here at the Grove that carry us into the future. And one of the greatest changes will not only be in the reconfiguration of the current dining room, but the rethinking of our entire mealtime timing and structure. This is still at least the major part of a year away, but watch for periodic updates.

Finally, orange tier, hooray! Can the yellow tier be too far behind? More reservation times in the Wellness Center, more opportunities to be with one another (even without masks) in small groups, more opportunities to move out from the confines of the Grove. Keep watching and listening to how we can continue to {carefully and cautiously) move towards that new "normal" that awaits us. Dave Tomlinson
