A WORD FROM THE PRESIDENT
As I am sitting here towards the end of August writing next month's article for Tidings, there is a hint of fall in the air! Two days without having to use the air conditioner! As we look forward to the coming of fall (my favorite season of the year), I am reminded of all that we have slowly and carefully accomplished over the summer.
More and more of our residents are enjoying the noon meal together in the Marwick utemporary dining hall." It has been wonderful to be able to share a meal-together--again! And, with the new food service provider, we are promised more surprises ahead!
Welcome, Victoria Eaton! With the addition of a staff person for the Wellness center, there will be more encouragement for all of us to exercise regularly for our health and wellbeing. Now we are able to do that individually or in the classes Victoria offers. We thank the Wellness Committee for helping this to happen.
We also have (carefully, again) been able to resume many of our small group activities, in person; from Wine and Nibbles to Bible study groups, and from art classes to many small group informal gatherings on campus, without masks!
All fully permitted; the renovation of several of the Grove residential units has also resumed, That means over the next weeks (maybe even before this is published} a number of our newer residents who have been staying in guest units can move into their newly refurbished new homes.
Pandemic or not, we are slowly and carefully, but surely, moving into the renewal of many of those activities that are so important to us here at the Grove. May we continue to move ahead, creatively, and with care for one another.
