A Word From The Resident President

They who wait (who expect, look for, and hope In Him) upon the Lord shall renew their strength (Isaiah 40:31 ). Living alone, during the virus, I have had much more time to wait upon the Lord and really feel that my faith has been strengthened. This promise of Isaiah has been one of my favorites. But, for a long time, I felt the progression from "wings" to walking was a mistake. We begin to walk, then run, and finally mount up with the wings like eagles. (An interesting translation (Brenton Septuagent-"they will be like eagles and grow new feathers".) But Isaiah was right!

Using minds that have soared, look at what has happened in just this last century. We are able to fly faster than the speed of sound and are able to envision landing on Mars! God has given us the ability to dream dreams that go way beyond the wings of eagles. This is a very special gift of God and comes first.

Those who are joggers or runners share the experiences when they hit a wall and are suddenly given a special new stamina to finish the race. They shall run and not be weary.

Then, to walk. There are times in life when it is very difficult to take that first step. To walk with the Lord is not always easy. But the promise is to wait upon Him and we will not faint!
